    Matthew 15: 21-28 The Canaanite Woman’s faith
21 Jesus left that place and went away to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came out and started shouting, ‘Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is tormented by a demon.’ 23But he did not answer her at all. And his disciples came and urged him, saying, ‘Send her away, for she keeps shouting after us.’ 24He answered, ‘I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.’ 25But she came and knelt before him, saying, ‘Lord, help me.’ 26He answered, ‘It is not fair to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs.’ 27She said, ‘Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’ table.’ 28Then Jesus answered her, ‘Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.’ And her daughter was healed instantly.

Many things I had learnt about the Traditional Aboriginal culture was understanding and respecting more about how they believe dream time stories was set out, for example, one of the stories was about "the creek" where a man had died near a creek and had slowly changed into a tree, which is known now as the Fresh Water Creek. The effects that the Europeans had affected Aboriginal culture was that they made many Aboriginals feel ashamed, scared of being an Aboriginal in the days.
Boori Monty Pryors had taught me that being human, if anyone makes mistakes and everyone is still equal with each other, everyone should be treated with great respect, you should treat people the way you would like to be treated because this is how we have peace in our world. The Power of story telling is such an important part in life, without stories being created through years back, we would not have beliefs of the higher power, or learn from mistakes being made. For Aboriginals, story telling will never stop in their culture, as for them story telling is their way of learning new things for generations to come.

    Matthew 15 : 21 - 28
    Summary of the Story:
Jesus left some place and headed to Tyre and Sidon. As soon as he arrives, a Canaanite woman runs out and shouts, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is tormented by a demon." He looked at his disciples and just simply ignored her. One of his disciples was annoyed at the lady so he spoke up, "Send her away, for she keeps shouting after us." But Jesus could only respond, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." But before his eyes, she knelt down and begged, "Lord, help me." He looked at her and responded, "It is not fair to take the children's food and throw it to the dogs." With this, she challenged his words, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." He was shocked and quickly responded, "Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish." And immediately, her daughter was healed.
    ...
    another because…
He is having an in-depth conversation with the Canaanite woman and his disciples. He did not give the woman a chance to voice her faith; he did not realize her loyalty so he decided to not help her. He is trying to explain to the lady that he is here on business, to help the chosen people of Israel. He wasn't going to stand there and listen to a Canaanite women’s nonsense. Through dialogue with the Canaanite woman he saw that "great is her faith!" As soon as she showed him her faith, he was willing to help her daughter because he thought that she deserved it. This shows that dialogue is essential for people to understand one another, including Jesus. Because of dialoguing with the woman that the daughter of the Canaanite Woman was healed.
This story demonstrates that in humanity, no matter whom or what power you have, you always look out for one another because that's the way life is. If you look out for someone, they will return the favour back to you and in the end, everyone is equal in one way or another.

Final Self Evaluation: Study of this Unit.
This unit has been quite complex for myself and a few others in my group. Although it’s been difficult, I learnt many new things about my very own religion which is Buddhism. It had given me the chance to explain my knowledge of a few things that I knew about Buddhism which had helped my group. The symbols I have chosen to do are, “A Heart and A Scale”, I have personally choose these symbols because they both represent how I relate to it in religion. I choose the Heart because deep inside, I did not know much about my religion, although my parents are very traditional, I did not understand much of my own self. Now, because of being extended too many sessions of learning, I know have a clearer and better knowledge of my inner self. The second symbol I choose was a Scale, this was chosen because my I felt unstable at times of not even knowing my religion very well. I felt as I had to help out my group by giving my knowledge of Buddhism, so therefore for me, I had to be balancing out my knowledge and then expressing it.
I learnt many new teachings of my religion, my dad being very traditional, he also mentioned a few things to me which had made it easier for me to understand. I have grown to know and respect Buddhist People and understanding there beliefs in life. Although with my experience, I already had a pretty good knowledge of the ‘Reborn Life’, but since we got the chance to explore, I now understand how they could be reborn, this is what I mostly understood and learnt the most.
The challenges I came across was figuring out whether Buddhist people pray to God or not. Most of us didn’t know, so when your religious expert had explained, we all knew and got a better understanding of the answer. I also found using Wiki Space was very boring, but also annoying because our work had disappeared, luckily, a few days later of searching, we had found a way of getting our work all back.
My achievements in this was that myself and my group all worked together to get our jobs done. We all tried to do our best for our wiki space and engage in the opportunity we were given.
My understanding of faith tradition was deepened by having a better understanding of how my religion works by having the opportunity of being able to go to temples and the classes given.

In the Buddhism culture, there are many rules and regulations to follow and help Buddhists become a good person. They have a belief known as “Samsara,” this is when one is still on Earth they must do good deeds and when doing this they are able to escape Samsara (refer to humanity page for more information). Through prayer Buddhists stimulate inherited inner capacities of strength, compassion and wisdom. They believe that prayer is a form of mediation to see the positive aspects of life and eliminate the negative perception; pointing them in the right direction. Although Buddhists do not deny Gods and may pray to them, they do not believe that these Gods can provide a “heaven” for them but guild them to reach NIRVANA. For Buddhists praying most importantly is a way of affirmation for themselves.
    We (the students) hope that….
The community will learn about the goals Buddhists work towards and respect their Buddhism culture, stories and rituals.
